Freya lives in a cozy coral home under the sea. Freya is a young mermaid who lives by a warm island. The island has soft golden sand and green palms. There are bright flowers near tall palm trees. Small waves lap the shore with a gentle sound. Freya is shy but very brave. One day she finds a small shell that is pink and shiny. She holds it and smiles.

Freya and Swan look in shallow water and on the sand. They search near sea grass and under shells. They find a trail of small bubbles leading under a big rock. They follow the bubbles to a dark cave. The cave is cool and quiet.
Inside the cave they see a pirate ship stuck on a rock. A pirate stands by the ship. He has a tall hat and a wooden leg. He has a small wooden sail and a red flag. He holds the small pink shell in his hand. Freya steps forward and asks kindly, "Is that my shell?" The pirate frowns. He says, "I found this shell and I kept it safe."
Freya feels brave. She says, "Please may I have it back?" The pirate tilts his head. He says, "You look kind. My ship is stuck here. Help me and you can have the shell." Freya nods. Swan flaps her wings. They all work together to free the ship. Freya pushes the hull. Swan pulls the rope. The pirate turns a wheel. The ship moves off the rock and into the sea.
The pirate cheers and thanks Freya and Swan. He gives Freya the pink shell. Then he gives her a round pearl that shines in rainbow light. Freya gasps. Swan claps her wings. Freya thanks the pirate with a big smile.
Freya tucks the shell and pearl in her tail. She sings a happy song. Swan sings along in her soft voice. They wave as the pirate sails away. Freya and Swan swim back home.
As the sun sets the island glows in gold. They rest in a cozy coral cave. Freya holds her shell and her pearl. She whispers, "Kindness and teamwork are magic." Swan nods and smiles.
