Rebecca and the Lost Wand

Rebecca is a young witch who lives in a tall tower on a green hill. She wears a small pointed hat and carries a little bag. Inside her home is the Divination Chamber. It is filled with glowing crystals and dusty books. One sunny morning, Rebecca wakes and looks for her magic wand. She pats her bag and peers under cushions, but the wand is nowhere. She feels sad. “My wand is lost,” she says softly. She takes a deep breath. She must find her wand before night comes to star the sky.

Rebecca climbs the stone steps to the big wooden door of the chamber. She taps the door with her knuckles and hears a soft creak as it opens. She steps inside and stands very still. The room is dim but warm. Candles glow on shelves and crystal light sparkles on the walls. Rebecca looks under the table. She looks behind jars. She looks inside a small glass box. Her wand is not there. She sighs and wonders what to do next.

Just then, Archer appears. Archer wears a light green tunic and holds a small bow. He is a kind friend who heard Rebecca call for help. “I will help you find your wand,” he says with a smile. Rebecca nods and feels happy. Archer takes an arrow and gently taps the wall. A secret panel slides open. Inside is an empty drawer. Archer shrugs. “Not here,” he says, but he and Rebecca feel hopeful.

Suddenly, a warm glow fills the room. Phoenix, a little red and gold bird, flies in on shining wings. He chirps and lands on Rebecca’s shoulder. He flaps his wings, and a soft breeze moves loose papers on a desk. They flutter and glow. Under the papers, they find a folded note with a simple drawing of a wand. The note points to a smaller door at the back. Rebecca claps her hands. “Let’s go,” she says.

They follow a short corridor lined with jars of herbs to the smaller door. Inside is a cool blue room filled with bubbling pots. The air smells sweet and minty. The Potion Maker stands at a big cauldron. She wears round glasses and a tall hat. She stirs a glowing green brew. “This potion will light the way to your wand,” she says kindly. She gives Rebecca a small vial of potion. Rebecca pours a drop on the floor. A bright green glow appears near a dark wooden chest.

Rebecca tries her tiny key on the chest. It does not fit. Suddenly, the grand door opens and the Sun Knight enters. He wears shining gold armor and holds a bright shield. He stands before the chest and blocks the handle. “Only I can open this chest,” he says firmly. Rebecca steps forward and speaks in a clear voice. “Sir Knight, please, may I open it? My wand is inside and I need it for kind magic.” The Sun Knight’s stern eyes soften. He bows his head and steps aside.

Rebecca turns the handle and opens the chest. Inside, her wand glows softly in the candlelight. She lifts it and hugs it close. She feels joy fill her chest. The Sun Knight reaches into the chest and pulls out a small glowing star. He hands it to Rebecca. “For your courage,” he says. Rebecca smiles and tucks the star into her bag.

Phoenix drops one bright feather. The feather floats to the ground. Rebecca picks it up and holds it. It glows softly. She places it next to her wand. The three friends look up and watch sparks of magic drift up and join the crystals above. They dance around the chest and laugh with delight.

Then they leave the tower. They walk through a ring of ivy at the door. The stars are coming out in the sky. Rebecca waves her wand and makes a small sparkle of light. Archer and Phoenix clap and cheer. The Potion Maker waves goodbye and shuts the small door. The Sun Knight salutes and his armor rings softly.

At home she arranges her treasures by the window. She sets her wand, star, and feather on a cushion. She blows out the candles and hears a soft melody. She smiles, yawns, and drifts to sleep, with warm dreams of magic to share with friends. The end.
