Zaidyn was a small Ninja on a warm Island. He was quiet, but very brave. He moved on tiptoes. Tap, tap, tap.
The sea said, “Shhh.” The palm trees waved, “Hello!”
Zaidyn had a tiny red shell in his pocket. It was his lucky shell. But—oh no—his pocket was empty.
“My shell!” Zaidyn whispered. His eyes went big.
A Genie popped out of a coconut with a poof. The Genie was silly and kind. His beard was fluffy like a cloud.
“Did you lose something, little Ninja?” the Genie asked.
“Yes,” said Zaidyn. “My red shell. I miss it.”
From a sandy path came the King of the Island. The King wore a leaf crown and shiny boots. He was tall and gentle.
“I will help,” said the King. “A King helps his friends.”
Another Ninja jumped down from a rock. This Ninja was named Miko. Miko was fast and giggly.
“I can look!” Miko said. “I am super speedy!”
Zaidyn nodded. “Team.”
They looked by the beach. They looked by the rocks. They looked near a little tide pool where tiny fish blinked.
Genie sang, “Shell, shell, where did you go?”
The King said, “We will search slowly. Slow eyes see more.”
Zaidyn tried slow eyes. He felt worried. His tummy felt tight.
Genie floated close. “It is okay to feel sad,” Genie said. “We stay together.”
Zaidyn took a deep breath. In… out… He felt a bit better.
Miko pointed. “Footprints! Small ones!”
The footprints went to the jungle part of the Island. The leaves were big. Birds went chirp-chirp.
Zaidyn stepped softly. “Ninja steps,” he whispered.
They found a broken sand bucket under a tree. Next to it was a tiny crab. The crab’s claw was stuck in a loop of seaweed.
The crab went, “Click… click…” like it was asking for help.
Zaidyn crouched down. “Hello, little crab.” He was gentle. He did not grab. He was careful.
The King held the seaweed still. Miko kept watch. Genie made a small light so they could see.
Zaidyn slid the seaweed off. One… two… free!
The crab wiggled. Then it scooted to a pile of shells.
It pushed one shell forward with its nose.
It was red.
“My shell!” Zaidyn said.
Genie clapped. “The crab kept it safe!”
The King bowed to the crab. “Thank you, brave little guard.”
Miko giggled. “Crab treasure keeper!”
Zaidyn held the red shell to his cheek. “Warm,” he said. “Happy.”
The Genie winked. “A reward for a kind Ninja!”
Poof! The Genie made a small treasure pouch. Inside were three shiny seashell coins and a tiny silver bell.
“For you,” said the Genie. “And for your team.”
Zaidyn gave one coin to the King and one to Miko. He kept one coin and the bell.
They walked back to the beach. The sun was soft. The sea sang.
Zaidyn tied the bell to his belt. Ding-ding!
“I learned a new skill,” Zaidyn said. “Slow eyes. Gentle hands.”
The King smiled. “And teamwork.”
Miko did a little Ninja hop. “And we got treasure!”
Genie floated high. “Island friends forever!”
Zaidyn laughed quietly. Tap, tap, tap. Ding-ding. Safe shell. Happy Ninja.
