Amadea the princess of Albania is a joyful little girl. She lives in the Radiant Palace. She wears a tiny gold crown. She loves her crown. She loves her palace. She loves her mother, the Queen.
One bright morning, Amadea wakes up. She runs to the mirror. She sees her crown. She smiles. Then she yawns. She goes to the window. She looks outside. The sun is shining. The birds sing a sweet song. Amadea claps. She feels happy.
Amadea goes to the palace hall. She sees the big table. She sees her breakfast. She eats a soft fruit. The Queen enters. The Queen has warm eyes. She waves at Amadea. She says, “Good morning, my dear.” Amadea says, “Good morning, mother.” They hug in a gentle way.
After breakfast, Amadea picks up her crown. She plans to wear it in the garden. She holds it in her small hands. But when she bends, the crown slips. It falls softly. Amadea gasps. She looks on the floor. The crown is gone! Amadea’s eyes grow wide. She calls, “Mother, please help!” The Queen hurries close. She kneels by Amadea. She says, “Do not cry, my dear. We will find it.”
They start to search the palace. They look in the study. They look under the big rug. They look behind the bookshelf. No crown. They look in the dining room. They look behind the curtains. No crown. Amadea wipes her tears. The Queen holds her hand. She says, “We can ask our friends.”
They go to the courtyard. They see the soft grass. They see the palace cat. The cat is gray and fluffy. Amadea asks, “Dear cat, have you seen my crown?” The cat purrs. It shakes its head. The Queen thanks it with a smile.
Next, they go to the stables. They see the gentle horse. They see the small pony. The horse whinnies. Amadea asks, “Horse, have you seen my crown?” The pony nods its head. No crown here.
They walk to the fountain near the rose garden. They hear water splash. They look around the shining stones. The crown is not here either. Amadea feels tired. The Queen offers her water. Amadea drinks. She feels calm.
Then they hear a soft chirp. They see a bright blue bird on a branch. Amadea asks, “Bird, little bird, have you seen my crown?” The bird flutters. It points its wing toward the lavender arch. Amadea and the Queen walk to the lavender arch.
Under a rose bush near the arch, they find a small Witch. She holds something shiny. She turns around. She looks at Amadea with gentle eyes. In her hands, the gold crown glows.
Amadea whispers, “My crown!” The Witch looks sad. She says, “I am sorry. I found it on the floor. I thought it was a lost toy. I wanted to play.” Amadea looks at the Witch. She smiles. “It is okay,” she says softly. “You can play with me, but please ask first.” The Witch nods. She places the crown in Amadea’s hands. The crown feels warm.
The Queen steps forward and smiles too. She says, “Kindness is a treasure, dear child.” The Witch bows. She says, “Thank you for your kindness. May I be your friend?” Amadea nods. She holds the Witch’s hand.
Back in the palace hall, the Queen arranges a little feast. They share sweet cake and honey tea. Amadea laughs. The Witch laughs too. The cat purrs. The horse neighs happily. Amadea dances in her bright dress. She wears her crown with pride.
That night, Amadea sleeps in her soft bed. She dreams of sparkling stars and her friends. She wakes up in the morning with a smile and the crown beside her pillow. She feels safe and loved.
Amadea the princess of Albania learns that kindness and help from friends make every day bright. Her crown is back, and her heart is full of joy.
